Relay for Life is a community organization that supports and raises funds for the fight against Cancer through the American Cancer Society.
Today, Relay for Life Roswell held its yearly event at Roswell High School in Roswell, Georgia. The day was filled with food, music, activities and many coming out to support this wonderful cause. Some of the local businesses and organizations present were Starbucks, Walgreens, Meer Electric, Roswell High School, Crabapple Middle School, Mountain Park Elementary, North Fulton Hospital, Dave and Busters, PT Solutions, North Wood Elementary School, and Slate Table and Tap. Among the people there was of course the City of Roswell; their Police and Fire Departments who were also supporting the cause.
Seeing all the booths set up gave everyone there a very warm feeling. There were plenty of activities for children of all ages. Many teens played football and other games among themselves. The younger children also played or walked around the tracks supporting their friends and family. As a community, everyone participated and came out to support this wonderful event.
What I think was the highlight of the day, was the performance of the Crabapple Middle School Drama club. To hear our young dedicating their time and performing for such an event, was very inspirational to me and to everyone there. They sang and performed like pros! I think if we compare these kids to the Glee performers, the Glee cast would have been proud.
I want to personally thank everyone who was out there today supporting Relay for Life. You all rock!
